Strudel Time

Has anything happened?

Plenty in the world – most of it horrifying and entirely banal in its chaos and wanton cruelty.

Here, however, in the world of Strudel, it’s been heads down writing the first draft of Rachinski and Finch for Sky. A process which has seen me riding the roller coaster of can I do this? Will this work? All the usual shilly shallying of doing one’s best  to see it walking on its own.

As a consequence I thought I’d concentrate today on what some of my talented friends are doing out there in the world.

MR. LAMB

Here is a link to a wonderful piece made by those brilliant old muckers of mine Paul and Tanya Morel. Written as a gift  here is the film they made of the story I wrote them. It’s a bit of a total triumph and has been heralded at Short film  festivals around the world. I’m incredibly proud of them – and of it. Do give it a watch.

If you’d like to know more about Oddbodies and their acclaimed one person show of King Lear you can find more information about them here.

THE FARMER AND THE CLOWN

Not content with that their daughter Ruby is continuing the family tradition and appearing in this wonderful show for created by my friends at Flibbertigibbet based in Bristol. They’re on tour now and here’s their website. If you’ve got small children you’ll definitely not want to miss it.

WEATHERRMAN

I’d also  like to plug my son Louis’s amazing band. Formed in Glasgow and now playing around the country they’ve got a large and loyal fanbase.  Their music is non- pigeon hole able and are great. Needless to say I’m biased but please give it a listen you won’t be disappointed!

Here’s a link to them on bandcamp

You can follow them on Instagram too

Lonely No More

Finally I’d like to give a shout out to Lonely No More available on Audible which has been nominated for this award in New York. The wizard that is Jon Nicholls, he who created the exceptional sound design for the podcast , is also nominated for his work in The Man who Fell to Earth. Again I’m very lucky to have collaborated with him.

So that’s about all from me if you enjoyed Lonely No More please write us a review. Hope all’s well and I’ll see you here for more strudel soon.
